My Faves

I’ve been meaning to do this for quite some time now, but there are several favorite blogs (and bloggers) I have found and I wanted to share them with you because I think YOU will like them too!

Leigh Pennebaker with Marvelous Kiddo
Leigh is what I call a super mom. She lives with her kiddos in New York city and is ridiculously talented. I love learning stuff about homebirths (a subject she is passionate about) and baby wearing from her. Her sense of style is also fabulously delicious! Please check her out! She is quite the sensation in the blog community!

Laura Dearman with Our Messy Messy Life
Laura is actually a friend of mine! I have been super impressed watching her grow her little family (the cutest kids in the world!) and she also is one of my main role-models for mother-hood (should that blissful day ever arrive for me). She is passionate about her kids, home births, and an expert on getting the most bang for your buck! She and her husband are incredible parents! Check her out!

Rachel Busler-Misenar with Little Sparrow
Rachel is one of my very best friends. And I feel exceptionally lucky to have her in my life. She is an amazing mama, wife, and very talented artist! She is my running buddy and playmate! She is the epitome of loving with no reserve. Her kind, compassionate, and giving nature shine through her! Check out her blog! She is full of wisdom and grace.

Catherine Moore with Constant in Chaos
Cathy has been my best friend since I was 5 years old. She is as much family as my own blood. We have been there for eachother for every major (and minor) milestone in life. I have watched her blossom into an amazing wife and mother. She is very passionate about motherhood and Christianity. Her walk with God is something to be admired and her quest for living a purpose-filled life shines through her blog. She is also exceptionally talented! She is an amazing photographer, organizer, and designer! Check out her blog here! And her other blog here!

Joy is a friend of mine from Meridian. She is incredibly delightful and her blogs are very educational and informative yet playful and fun. She is a master chef, creative writer, and all-in-all just a wonderful person to know. I love her blog! Check it out!

Bernadette Birney with Bernie Birney: It’s About Yoga
This is my favorite blog dealing with yoga. Bernadette has had the good fortune of studying with the great ones: she’s a certified Anusara yoga instructor, and has long pestered her Rajanaka Yoga mentor, Douglas Brooks. Known for her poetic and precise articulation, she insists that you can maintain a hard-core yoga practice and a sense of humor, too. Her classes, immersions and trainings are steeped in a life affirming philosophy that will invite you into the exploration of your own potential.
Bernadette was one of the earliest Certified Anusara Yoga instructors in CT, and continues to mentor the local teaching community, leading trainings and retreats. She has contributed to Yoga Journal, Fit Yoga, Elephant Journal and Srividyalaya Amrta. She is also a lululemon ambassador, and the author of the quirky, award-winning blog! Please check her out!

Check out these bloggers! You won’t be disappointed, I promise;)

Wellness and Encouragement

Hello, Saturday!

Here in the dirty south, it is a gorgeous day! Full of lots of adventures awaiting to happen and hope on the horizon.

Both of my beautiful and talented yoga teachers are featured on the cover of the Jackson VIP this month!

Scotta and Tara are both very dear to me and are just as much mentors to me as yoga instructors. They have helped shape the person I’ve become and I am beyond grateful to them both!

I’m working on a post about yoga and what it means to me and why I practice. Stay tuned;)

On another really encouraging note, I found this manifesto of encouragement on a friend’s blog, Leigh Pennebaker. Well, I don’t actually know Leigh in person but I do know her Dad and her Brother and I absolutely LOVE her blog! She is so creative and beautiful and sheds so much goodness in the world! Her blog is Marvelous Kiddo incase you want to check it out! Which I highly encourage you to do so!  I just had to repost this one because it really touched my soul! Thank you, Leigh for sharing!

The Manifesto of Encouragement was written by Danielle LaPorte. It totally made my day better, so I had to share:

Right now:
There are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.
Someone you haven't met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.
Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life.
Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God's children.
A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, "nourish them."
Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you. Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favourite food is, and treat you to a movie. Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you -- for free.
Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.
The next great song is being rehearsed.
Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth.
Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.
Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they'll be thriving like never before. They just can't see it from where they're at.
Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to ARRIVE, will get precisely what they want -- and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in it's reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all "So worth the wait."
Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche -- this luminous juju is floating in the ether, and is accessible to you.
Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest.
Someone is fighting the fight so that you don't have to.
Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe. Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water.
Someone is regaining their sanity. Someone is coming back from the dead. Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable. Someone is curing the incurable.

You. Me. Some. One. Now.

Happy Saturday, Friends!
