I don’t know about you but I was not overly excited about the super bowl this year.
I mean, I’m never overly elated about it if the Saints aren’t playing but I do always watch it.
The super bowl is like a holiday in our country. In fact, I’m sure it’s more celebrated than most Christian holidays.
I really only attend super bowl parties because of the food. And company.
And because I am the all-around American woman.
This year was no exception.
My friend, Kevin, was the host-est with the most-est.
I gorged on rotel dip, pork loin sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pound cake and topped it off with oreos and 2 glasses of milk.
There are only a few problems with that….
1) I haven’t eaten much sugar in over a month
2) I’m lactose intolerant
So as you can imagine this did not turn out well for me.
I had to leave early holding my sides and trying to contain myself from barfing all over my friends.
I loved that Lee (a brilliant 15 year old) looked at me and said,
“I mean, you did that to yourself.”
Bingo.
I sure did.
I actually really enjoyed Madonna’s half time performance.
For a 53 year old, she is still hot and she performed my favorite song (Like a Prayer) so I was good to go…..except the end when WORLD PEACE flashed across the field in glitter.
WTF???
Whenever I hear the phrase or see the phrase “World Peace”, I immediately imagine a naked woman running through the streets eating corn on a cob shouting “World Peace, Bitches”.
Weird.
Anyway, did you watch the super bowl?
